The style world has misplaced an enormous. Legendary Vogue editor and trade icon André Leon Talley has died at 73. Based on WWD, Talley passed away on Jan. 18, although the reason for demise remains to be unknown.
Talley’s profession in style spanned six many years, most notably as information director, then inventive director and editor-at-large, at Vogue. Throughout his tenure, he helped form the route of the journal within the ’80s and ’90s, and championed range and illustration on the runway. He labored carefully with Anna Wintour and continued to contribute to Vogue in numerous capacities even after his departure in 2013. With a storied profession and larger-than-life character, Talley left an indelible mark on the trade.
